Bellroy emerged from the collective vision and experience of designers Andrew Fallshaw and Hadrien Monloup, alongside engineers Lina Calabria and Matthew Fallshaw. Rooted in Australia, the brand was born out of a desire to solve the everyday problems encountered with bags and wallets. Frustrations experienced during travel and the need for a more functional approach to carrying essentials were the catalysts for Bellroy's inception.

Initially conceived as a bag brand, the direction shifted after constructive feedback highlighted a more promising opportunity in redesigning wallets. Co-founder Andrew Fallshaw's background in product design, honed at the Glasgow School of Art, played a crucial role in this pivot. Drawing upon his earlier experiments with slim and efficient wallet designs, Bellroy's first product line focused on re-engineering wallets to be more streamlined and practical.

Bellroy's growth trajectory has been a story of gradual expansion and refinement. Starting with a small range of innovative wallets and a compact team, the brand experienced a steady increase in global recognition. This success led to an expansion of their product offerings, branching into phone cases, work accessories, and eventually into the realm of bags. This expansion into bags was a significant milestone, aligning with the company's original vision.

The brand's commitment to these values is evidenced in its choice of materials and production processes, including sourcing leather from environmentally responsible tanneries.
